A workflow that sources daily news on any topic, stores it in Notion for manual approval, and auto-publishes approved stories to Webflow using Claude Cowork and MCP-triggered webhooks.

How it works

Step 1: Schedule the daily news task

Set up a recurring Claude Cowork task.

Create a new scheduled task in Claude Cowork.
Set the frequency to run once per day.
Define the domain and topics to track:
- Pick the subject area (e.g. AI, fintech, climate).
- List the story types to prioritize.
Instruct Claude to web search for the top 10 stories in that domain.

Step 2: Define the Notion database schema

Create the database that stores every run.

Add the required columns:
- Headline
- Summary
- Category
- Source Link
- Fetched On
- Published
- Status
Set Category options that fit your domain.
Set Status options:
- In Review
- Approved
- Rejected
Default new rows to Status = In Review.

Step 3: Push daily news into Notion

Write each story as a new row.

Connect Notion MCP inside the Cowork task.
Instruct Claude to create 10 new rows per run.
Map each field:
- Headline → title
- Summary → 1–2 sentence summary
- Category → matching tag
- Source Link → original article URL
- Fetched On → today's date

Step 4: Manually review and approve

Decide what gets published.

Open the database each morning.
Review the 10 stories for:
- Relevance to your domain
- Quality of the source
- Originality of the story
Toggle Status:
- Approved → worth publishing
- Rejected → skip

Step 5: Trigger the publish webhook

Fire the webhook on approval.

Set a Notion automation on the database.
Trigger condition: Status changes to Approved
Configure the webhook payload to include:
- Headline
- Summary
- Category
- Source Link

Step 6: Publish to Webflow

Create the CMS entry automatically.

Route the webhook to Claude with Notion MCP + Webflow MCP connected.
Claude reads the approved row from Notion.
Claude creates a new Webflow CMS item:
- Title → Headline
- Body → Summary
- Category tag → Category
- External link → Source Link
Publish the item live.
